Here's some information about a couple of local trails.
1) Savage Lake Trail - very steep and rocky but only 45 minutes to top for beautiful view of lake, great places to picnic. Not recommended for horses. Paul, Shelley and Al
2) S. Thompson Trail from Broderick trail head - lovely ridge trail until you cross the creek. Then timber down and bogs, dangerous to proceed. Before creek try trail up to right, great trail but don't know how far or where it goes. Named it Council Trail. Roberta, Al and Shelley
3) Placita Trail - straight up for an hour before it connects with Lily Lake Trail. Can take Lily Lake trail to Lily Lake and down to road, crossing river. Hitch hike back to pick up trailer. Long 3-4 hour ride but beautiful. One bad bushwhack around tree down on Lily Lake. Roberta, Shelley and Al
The SILVA RIDING AND LIFE ENRICHMENT CENTER has recently opened. The opening of this equestrian facility offers new and unique opportunities for horse and nature lovers to enjoy equine and nature related activities on the beautiful and exotic Greek island of Corfu. Not simply dedicated to advancing the sport of horseback riding either for competition or pleasure, the SILVA RIDING AND LIFE ENRICHMENT CENTER will strive to provide teaching, learning and a deeper appreciation for the true nature and psychology of the magnificent, noble animal that is Equus, the horse. Riding lessons, in both English and western disciplines, and taught by professionals, will be offered at this new center. But, beyond the human activity of riding horses, special programs provided inside our all weather arena, will impart wisdom of the horse itself, without it being encumbered by a human riding it and will be a major focus of this new facility. Mutually successful interaction with horses should be a life enriching experience for both the horse and the human. At this new equestrian center it is. Consider a Greek island holiday, horsey style as a potentially welcomed break from the frigid Colorado mountain winter. RFVHC life member Franklin Levinson is a co-director.
